When your goals overwhelm…
Too many goals, too little time.
Coupled with a constant cycle of half-finished projects, and frustration sets in. The to-do lists never end, and the sense of achievement? Nowhere to be found.
You have big dreams, but the path feels scattered.
Without a clear system, goal-setting turns into goal-drifting. You’re left chasing fleeting tasks rather than building meaningful outcomes.
What if you could strip away the noise, focus on three core elements, and finally start seeing progress?
The power of 3
The power of 3 isn’t just a method, rather it’s a mindset.
When you simplify your goals into clarity, focus, and momentum, you’re no longer chasing vague aspirations. You’re building a system that gets results and transforms your approach to challenges, projects, and daily routines.
I started writing on Substack in July 2024, 2nd July to be exact. Before that I was always searching for ways to build an online business. Having tried (and failed) for many years, it’s not until I started writing that I discovered my passion for it.
Now 5 months later, I’m proud to say that I’ve been writing and publishing every single day. To write every day is the only big and simple goal I have.
I don’t have it figured out when I first started. Looking back now and connecting the dots, I realized that the power of 3 is crucial to my achieving the goal.
Here’s how you can harness the power of 3 to achieve your own goals.
1. Clarity
Clarity anchors your purpose.
Without clarity, you’re busy, not productive. Imagine driving without a destination, you could end up anywhere. Clarity forces you to articulate why your goal matters, aligning your actions with a deeper sense of purpose.
Do you know what’s your ultimate goal? What’s your “must-achieve-by-December 2025” goal? Can you break it down to 6 months? 3 months? 52 weeks?
Revisit your “why” often. As circumstances change, stay connected to your purpose so you can pivot any time without losing direction.
Clarity turns confusion into confidence.
2. Focus
Focus fuels precision.
Focus is the bridge between dreaming and doing. Once you’ve clarified your goals, focus helps you prioritize what matters most. Instead of juggling 10 things poorly, focus directs your energy to the top 1–3 tasks that will make the biggest impact.
Eliminate distractions. Identify the activities, habits, or mindsets that pull you off course.
Ask yourself, “If I could only accomplish one thing today, what would it be?”
Set micro-deadlines. Break down larger goals into smaller, actionable steps with timeframes. For eg, spend x hours a day writing / learning a related topic / walking or exercise / journaling / meditating / engaging…
Focus makes your actions intentional and meaningful.
3. Momentum
Momentum builds mastery.
Starting is hard. Staying consistent is harder. But success is not only about winning it big. The small, consistent progress that compounds over time are your little successes you can see along the way. Momentum keeps you going when motivation fades.
Every step forward is your achievement milestone, no matter how small.
Make your habits stick, turn recurring actions into rituals that align with your goals.
Regularly evaluate what’s working and what’s not, then refine your strategy.
Momentum transforms effort into habit, and progress feel natural and achievable.
Your goals becomes your lifestyle
When you combine clarity, focus, and momentum, you’re not only working towards goals, you’re also evolving. You’re training yourself to tackle every future roadblock.
By adopting these principles, you shift from being reactive to proactive. You move with purpose, act with precision, and maintain an energy that others notice. You transform and you become the maestro of your life.
Goals then aren’t something you achieve. They’re something you live. Stay connected to your power of 3 daily, and watch the small, deliberate changes reshape your entire trajectory.

Thanks for reading.
Goal setting is wide topic but you simply condensed it into 3 core elements, appreciate it. Gonna focus on those 3 from now.
A year end review certainly helps prepare for your new year's goals. A year end review not only gives you a reality check. But it also motivates you to achieve more, when you've achieved your goals in some areas of your life.
I achieved a few of my goals this year:
- Write online regularly. Substack notes and Substacks friends helped me achieve that.
- Start reading books and finish them.
- On track to finish the 30 Medium articles in 90 days challenge
What's your opinion on the two questions, Moon?
