That's an interesting post that serves well to cause some self-reflection.
The writing for stress relief definitely resonates with me both in a direct and indirect way. Directly in that when there's a feeling of stress present, writing has always helped calm it because when writing my mind is able to focus on the present moment, the actual writing task. It's in-direct in the sense that writing regularly I've found serves as a way to reduce stress levels in general to begin with.
I've long been a big believer in the mind-body connection, in that if one listens closely to their internal signals the mind will tell you things about your physical well (or non-well) being. However, I've never thought of it terms of the writing process being a way to tap into it, so your points here definitely gave me something to reflect on and pay attention to the next time I write.
I write from experience and have come to experience happiness from purely putting words down. The crazy thing is, they don't even have to be published. It's just drawing out our emotions and feelings, and somehow it clears us internally.
May you also be experiencing that. I hear your thoughts and look forward to reading your wrestling stories. The writing could be a process too, as you experience more mind-body connection, it shows through in your words.
I love that this is so authentic to who you are! It’s perfectly you!
It's just me, lol. Being authentic is very important to me!
Thank goodness - it’s one of many qualities I admire in you!
You too, Allison, you too.
Loved it! So informative
Sort of crossed over to your expertise right? :)
Let’s call it passion, I’m not an expert yet :)
