The storm
Life gives us many challenges.
One moment, we are full of hope for the future, excitement filling our minds with dreams and could-haves.
Next moment, everything crumbles, our confidence, energy, belief in ourselves. Doubt creeps in. Failure whispers in our ears, making us wonder if it’s even worth trying anymore.
Whenever things seem smooth-sailing, life knock you down. Hard.
But regardless of what happens, keep this in mind. No setback, no failure, no heartbreak has the power to erase your life. Life keeps moving, even when your spirit feels broken. And that means you still have a choice.
Your spirit is your drive.
Your emotions are your passion.
Your mind is the strongest part of you.
They are what fuel your ambition.
Your fire can burn bright or flicker in the wind. It can get soaked in disappointment, momentarily losing its warmth.
But your life? That’s your purpose, your path, the unshakable foundation beneath your feet. And no matter how stormy it gets, that foundation remains.
Think of a river flowing through a storm. The rain pours, the wind howls, the surface ripples in chaos. But beneath the turbulence, the river keeps moving forward. Life is that river. The storm may affect how it looks, but it never stops its course.
Resilience > Reaction
We often let our struggles define us. We assume that feeling lost means we are lost. That failure means we are failures.
But if you choose to rise despite? You’ll know the difference. You’ll recognize that pain is temporary, but your resolve is forever.
Take Thomas Edison, thousands of failed experiments, yet he never stopped. Or J.K. Rowling, rejected by 12 publishers before creating one of the biggest literary successes of all time. If they had let their dampened spirits dictate their actions, the world would never have seen their genius.
You don’t have to be a great inventor, a famous scientist or an influential blogger to apply this. You just have to decide that setbacks are moments, not definitions. In fact, overcoming obstacles with determination is what will make you great, famous and influential.
Keep moving forward
When life drenches your spirit, here’s how you dry off and keep going:
🔥 Embrace the storm
Stop resisting hard times and start accepting them. Struggles don’t mean stop. They mean grow.
If you spend your life trying to avoid pain, discomfort, and failure, you’re letting the natural tendencies of life take over you. Resisting hardship is what’s actually keeping you stuck! The more you fight against life’s difficulties, the harder they seem to hit. It’s like standing in the ocean, bracing yourself against an incoming wave, and it only knocks you down harder.
But if you lean into it, let it carry you, you’ll find that you’re still afloat. Struggles aren’t here to stop you; they’re here to shape you.
Every challenge you face has the potential to strengthen you, if you let it. Think about the hardest moments of your life. The ones that tested you, drained you, and made you question everything.
Yet, you survived. You grew. And you’re here now, stronger than before. Growth doesn’t happen in comfort, it happens in resistance. Don’t ask “Why is this happening to me?”, instead ask, “What is this teaching me?” That shift alone can turn obstacles into opportunities.
Accepting the storm doesn’t mean giving up, it means adapting. It means looking at hardship not as an enemy but as a catalyst for growth. Successful people aren’t the ones who never struggle, they’re the ones who embrace the struggle and extract lessons from it.
The sooner you accept that storms are a part of life, the sooner you’ll learn how to navigate them with strength and clarity.
🔥 Reignite your flame
Start small. A single step forward, reading one page, writing one sentence, making one call, can reignite your drive.
When your spirit feels dampened, the temptation is to wait until you feel motivated again. But motivation is unreliable, it comes and goes like the wind. If you wait for motivation to strike before taking action, you’ll stay stuck.
The secret? Start moving before you feel ready. Because movement itself creates motivation.
Think of a cold car engine on a winter morning. It doesn’t start at full power, it sputters, struggles, and slowly warms up. Your drive works the same way. A small action can spark the fire inside you again.
Read one page of a book that inspires you.
Write a single sentence instead of trying to finish an entire chapter.
Make that difficult phone call, even if it’s just to say, “Hey, I’m still here.”
These micro-actions may seem insignificant, but they break inertia and get you moving.
The moment you take action, your brain shifts from passive mode to engaged mode. And once you’re engaged, even the smallest win creates momentum. That’s why the hardest part is always the beginning. But once you start, the next step feels easier. You don’t need to do everything at once, you just need to do something.
One spark is enough to reignite the flame.
🔥 Anchor to your purpose
Emotions fluctuate. Some days you’ll feel like conquering the world. Other days, you’ll barely feel like getting out of bed. Purpose is what keeps you moving when motivation fails.
Motivation is temporary, but purpose is permanent. If you rely on fleeting bursts of energy to get things done, you’ll always be at the mercy of your emotions. Some days, you’ll feel unstoppable. Other days, you won’t even want to lift a finger. That’s why you need something stronger than motivation.
You need a deep why.
Your purpose is what keeps you moving when everything else fails. It’s the reason you started in the first place. The reason you push forward, even when it’s hard. It’s what separates those who quit from those who persist.
Ask yourself,
Why does this matter?
What impact do you want to leave?
Who are you doing this for?
If you don’t have a clear answer, it’s time to find one. Because when your purpose is strong enough, obstacles become mere distractions, not reasons to stop.
The key is to make your purpose visible. Write it down. Keep reminders everywhere, on your phone, on your desk, in your journal. When you’re exhausted, overwhelmed, or full of doubt, revisit it. Read it out loud. Let it remind you why you started. Purpose is what grounds you when everything else feels uncertain.
🔥 Detach from the moment
Right now might feel unbearable. But zoom out. Will this moment matter in a year? Five years? Your current emotions are temporary. Your future is still in your hands.
In the heat of struggle, it’s easy to feel like your entire world is crumbling. Failure feels permanent. Pain feels endless. But…this moment is just a fraction of your story.
Think back to something that once felt like the worst moment of your life. Maybe it was a painful breakup, a failed project, a rejection you took personally. At the time, it felt overwhelming. But looking back now, does it hold the same weight? Probably not. That’s because time gives perspective. What feels unbearable today may be insignificant in a year.
The problem is, we make long-term decisions based on short-term emotions. We quit because today is hard, forgetting that tomorrow holds possibilities we can’t yet see.
Zoom out. Imagine your future self looking back at this moment. What would they tell you? That you should have given up? Or that you should have pushed through because something better was waiting? Detaching from the present moment doesn’t mean ignoring your feelings. It means recognizing that emotions are temporary, but the consequences of your choices are lasting.
Your future is still yours to shape. Don’t let a bad moment decide the rest of your story.
Rise again
Deshi Basara, Deshi Basara, Deshi Basara
Rise up, rise up, rise up.
Life may try to break you.
It may flood your spirit with doubt, exhaustion, and setbacks.
But it can never take away your ability to stand back up. To push forward. To keep creating, building, and becoming who you’re meant to be.
Your spirit can dim. But your life? That’s still yours to shape.
So take a deep breath. Stand up. And start moving again!
