This is one thing I definitely do not have an issue with. i'm more of a preventative first, then take action and have Plan A, B, C, D and so on. it may come from seeing all the things I've seen in my career and knowing that we're not guaranteed one single moment longer, so I try to do as much as I can in one day sometimes to the point of fatigue and so my main thing is setting boundaries for myself, but I do know a lot of people have issues with procrastination, and I think the tips that you have offered will help a lot

I could never see you as a procrastinator Kathleen, you're probably moving 24/7 😂, it may be harder to ask you to rest than to ask you work!

I do. My "strategy" is proverbial: doing important and urgent things. Instead of the most important, most urgent and most inconvenient things.

And how is that working out for you?

This feels very familiar Moon. I'm one of those "I work better under pressure" types, to the extent I'll create the urgency if there is none to get something done. I can't imagine a scenario where I just do something that I need to do without any kind of reason.

If you tell me there's "no rush" you may as well have said, don't bother starting this until I start to bug you. I know I can safely put it out of my mind and when it becomes a an urgent thing, you'll remind me then I'll get on it.

I'm finding that the problem with life in general is that it feels more like I'm finding more creative ways to outsmart myself than just learning to work with my own brain instead of against it.

I hope some of that makes sense.

It’s like trying to cover 5 pots of boiling water with just 4 covers, constantly shifting the focus onto what’s the most urgent. I’m like that too, leaving things to the last minute and then trying to get by.

But I realize, even though this is “efficient”, it may reduce the quality of work somehow. Though sometimes things work out for the best.

And then you drop one of your covers at the least convenient time. That’s when you know you should have pre-cooked one or two of the dishes!

Sometimes it works out, sometimes we discover better techniques through trial and error. Sometimes we even learn something, if we’re willing to let go of our preconceptions and try something new!

And out of all these lessons, the most important one being, be flexible so we can deal with it however the situation arises, and that's the most important skill of all.

So we need to stretch the mental muscles as much as the physical ones!
