How To Make A Square Peg Fit Into A Round Hole
(If the last 100 strategies you tried didn’t work)
I have always been a social misfit.
In my eyes, I’m different from everyone around me.
They have common background, interests and topics.
My classmates and co-workers group together like birds of a feather.
Whereas I’m standing apart, observing them, and wondering how to join in.
I tried:
Faking myself to fit them (I hate it)
Cutting my own corners (failed because I’m too far gone in my own world)
Ignoring and telling myself I’m the best (self-delusion)
After all the failed attempts, I gave up and live passively.
No one has to like me.
I don’t have to like no one.
Life goes on, right?
Being oblivious will remove the hurt.
Then I discovered a whole new world.
A world where all the misfits fit in.
A world where people may not appreciate what you do, but they understand why you do it.
A world so big that everyone can fit in, misfit or not.
The curious and the creative world.
Now I no longer try to fit.
Instead, I try to make my own world so big that people come into it.
I create my own world.
You are welcome to come in.
If you are/were also a misfit, tell me and let’s create a world together.
