How I Use the PATH of LEAST RESISTENCE to Consistently Hit Goals
A Game Changer For the Lazy Person
I used to think laziness is the worst quality ever.
I thought being lazy means:
things do not get done
I will never get out of the vicious cycle
I’m a failure
But then I discovered a strange phenomena.
I got more things done within shorter periods of time.
How to use laziness to your advantage?
Being lazy does not equal to unmotivated.
It does not mean you are unproductive.
It also does not mean inaction.
Instead, being lazy can be a great motivation
When you desire:
to save energy and do things the easy way
go the path of least resistance to reduce reluctance
to implement systems with minimum maintenance
When you choose efficiency over hard work, you’d:
look for best solutions
avoid unnecessities
batch tasks
set up systems
set time blocks
How about taking things one step further?
When you choose effectiveness over efficiency, you’d:
focus on high impact work
habits run on automations
automations build momentums
create great upward spirals
How I use the path of least resistance to consistently hit goals
I think of friction as my enemy.
The more simple it is, the easier it is to do.
When you want to write more, reduce the friction of writing.
When you want to write better, reduce the friction of learning how.
When you want to hit your goals, reduce the friction of getting to milestones.
Creating routines and systems is a good start.
Especially so for boring things like writing (sorry to burst the bubble if you are an aspiring writer).
Once you set up your routines and systems, you unlock the secret to consistency.
Here’s a peek into mine:
My Daily Writing Routine
Write from 6.30am – 7.30am
Write 500 words
Edit and publish
Write 3 ideas for next day
My Writing System
Open a new draft for each idea from above
Write 3 bullet points + 1 conclusion for each idea
Add in quotes or personal stories
My Daily Substack Routine
Note three ideas for the writing routine
Scroll notes for interesting reads
Comment / Repost for things I like
Post new notes when inspired
Having a routine and system is just a start.
Yours will not look like mine, so it’s best to build your own.
And, if you are not lazy like me, you might not need this at all.
Thanks for reading.
