Explosive growth is not for the faint-hearted
True transformation demands more than just desire..
Everyone wants success... until they see what it costs.
Growth looks good on paper, goals look great on a vision board, and dreams sound inspiring when you talk about them.
But when the lights are off and you're alone with your thoughts…
when self-doubt kicks in
when your progress is invisible
when your old identity is screaming to stay alive
that's when you’ll realize something: explosive growth is brutal! And it’s not for the faint-hearted.
What does it really take to evolve? The people who grow the fastest are often the ones who endure the most.
The Fantasy vs. The Fight
Here’s what most people think growth looks like: You decide on a goal, you get motivated, you wake up early, follow your plan, and everything falls into place. Then boom! New job, new body, new life.
But is it really so?
Here’s what actually happens: You decide on a goal, you get excited, you try to change. Then you hit resistance, you procrastinate and doubt yourself, and feel quitting.
You start to question who you are and whether what you’re doing is right.
But deep down, you know only if you stick with your vision long enough, then you will transform.
Growth is war.
Not with the world.
But with yourself.
first real growth spurt was ugly
Here’s my story.
There was a time when my life was a plateau, living as if I’m the walking dead. But there was only so much I can take, and one day, I decided to make a complete change, discard the old me and start a new life.
There was no backup plan, no one to fall back on and nothing to draw reference from. You can only live life forward, and I only had one burning belief: “There’s more in me than this.”
So I started a painful journey of coming out of my shell, a total metamorphosis, building something new. Pouring everything into a life I believed was possible.
You know what followed?
Friends seeing me in a new light (both good and bad)
Family calling me crazy
Doubt, fear, anxiety, but with bouts of satisfaction and pride
But I kept going. Not because I was confident. Not because I was strong. But because I couldn’t go back.
And that’s the first lesson. Explosive growth doesn’t give you a safety net. It forces you to burn your backup plans.
Growth is a grief process
You’re not just learning new skills. Instead, you’re killing
old patterns
old beliefs
old comfort zones
You’sre grieving who you used to be.
People think growth is addition. It’s actually subtraction.
You subtract excuses
You subtract bad habits
You subtract fake identities
Until only the real you is left.
And let me be honest, that process sucks. It’s lonely and terrifying. But it’s necessary.
5 brutal truths about explosive growth
If you want explosive growth, you need to understand the terrain. Here are five truths that I’ve discovered for myself:
1️⃣ You’ll outgrow people
Some friendships won't survive your transformation. Why?
Because when you stop complaining and start doing, you make others uncomfortable.
You become a mirror and not everyone wants to look in it. Growth requires distance. Sometimes love means letting go.
2️⃣ You will feel like a fraud
It’s called impostor syndrome. And it doesn’t mean you’re broken. It just means you’re growing.
Every time you stretch into a new identity, your old self will fight back.
You’ll hear things that go against your dreams, beliefs and passion. But answer back with action. Because impostors don’t worry about being impostors. Only real ones do.
3️⃣ Discipline > Motivation
Motivation is cheap. It’s like fire on a windy day, gone in seconds. Discipline is what gets you to show up after the motivation dies.
It’s the reps that nobody sees
It’s writing when nobody’s reading
It’s building when nobody’s clapping
If you want explosive growth, master boring consistency.
4️⃣ Doubt is normal. Quitting is optional.
You will question everything.
Your ideas
Your message
Your timeline
Your worth
But doubt is part of the journey. It’s not a sign to stop, but a sign that you’re going somewhere new. Just don’t quit. Because most people stop 3 feet from breakthrough.
5️⃣ Pressure increases with growth
You wanted more and ow it’s here.
But guess what? It’s heavier.
More responsibility
More criticism
More eyes on you
But the twist is, pressure makes diamonds. It’s a test. And if you can hold the weight,
you’ll shine.
Do you really want growth?
If you say you want transformation, ask yourself this:
Are you willing to be misunderstood?
Are you willing to feel lost?
Are you willing to walk alone?
Are you willing to look foolish?
Because those are the entry fees.
Growth won’t ask if you’re ready. It will demand that you leap, before you feel prepared.
Your action step
Let’s get practical. Pick one area of your life where you’re stuck.
Now ask:
What am I avoiding because it’s uncomfortable?
What’s the real cost of staying the same?
Can I bear the heat when it’s intense?
Take one bold action this week:
Send the pitch
Have the hard conversation
Post the thing
Realize the idea
You don’t need confidence. You need courage.
The truth most won’t tell you
Explosive growth isn’t about going viral, but going internal.
Changing how you think, what you tolerate, what you stand for.
It’s not about becoming someone new, but materializing who you’ve always been, without fear, filters, or permission.
Do you have the guts?
You won’t always feel brave. You won’t always feel ready. But that’s okay. Because growth doesn’t require perfection, just persistence.
So the next time you feel like giving up, remember that explosive growth isn’t for the faint-hearted. It’s for:
the relentless
the raw
the real
And if that’s you, don’t just grow.
Erupt.

Thanks for reading.
You hit so many great points in this piece. Growth is all of those things. Explosive growth can be painful on multiple levels. It is true, though that there are rewards to be earned by doing that hard work to progress along our chosen paths. I love that you get to the heart of the matter. Love, Virg
Totally resonate with this Moon. It not a journey for the faint of heart. But growth, no matter how brutal it can feel, is always rewarding ✨
